Rosie says: My last and favorite post on the the
maxi (for now at least) is party perfect. Whether attending a wedding or
a luxe dinner with friends on the deck of your
favorite restaurant, a maxi can easily take you there. Plus, maxis are a
comfortable dress choice, leaving room for dessert and making an easy
ensemble if you're packing a wee little one. Flowers or
geometric print, I love the bright colors in both of these. My other
most favorite part of the maxi: it goes great with flats. Dressy and
comfy!

Drinks with friends
Rosie says: continuing on with my bestie the maxi dress. I love being able to easily get dressed for a night out with friends - who doesn't? Whether it is very plain, shows a little lace, or has a great belt it is an easy staple to dress up and a must have in my summer wardrobe.
Dress by Sandro. Outfit at Net-a-porter.
Maxed out
Rosie says: Maxi
dresses rank right up with denim in terms of my year-round uniform--and
one of the easiest pieces to grab out of my
closet. Whether I'm running errands or going out for a night on the
town, they have a way of making me feel put together but never overdone.
Plus, the pair well with everything from booties to embellished sandals
and flip-flops. Santa Cruz can be pretty casual, even if you're out for
dinner with
friends. This will be a three-part series devoted to my bestie, the maxi dress: daytime chic, drinks with friends and party perfect.
The look for less.

Two things I heart
Rosie says: two things I'm craving right now, and one is even practical!
Love this bright mojito green windbreaker. It's time to replace my burnt out black one, and why not go for something more fun?! Living on the coast I couldn't do with out a good windbreaker, I wear it running errands, jogging and I always tuck it away in my suitcase on every trip. Mojito green to bright for you? There are an array of colors to choose from, and of course I love the white one too.
Love anything Jill Platner. A surfer girl who lives and works in SoHo. Her love of the ocean and outdoors is why most of her jewelry is strung on tenara thread that resists UV rays and salt water. I never take mine off, not even in the shower. Her prices can be steep, I've started with a simple bracelet, but I can't wait to collect more!

Brighten up your day
Rosie says: This is just a little color inspiration for you all. Whether it is 70 degrees where you live or you're still wearing your jackets, color can make it feel like summer is just around the corner. I recently purchased this cherry red beaded clutch by Trina Turk. I've already worn it to dinner and imagine it will be in my suitcase to Mexico, and any warm vacation spot I have in my future. I also love the idea of stacking colorful bracelets, they brighten up any white tee and blue jean cut offs. This idea has been around for a couple of seasons, but it's not to late to join in the fun!

High vs. Low
Rosie Says: I heart spring's floral denim—and I also like that these
jeans aren't a one-price-fits-all piece. Splurge on the 7s or save at
dELiAs, either way it's a (garden) party on your pants. Pair them with
snakey sandals
and a simple tee for an easy day look, or dress them up with black
pointy-toe pumps and a black blazer, like this pricier Shopbop option or
lookalike LC version.

Dip into spring
Rosie Says: I recently went into one of my favorite shops, which was chalk
full of new spring pieces, but my wallet was putting a limit
on my spending. I walked away with a Chan Luu scarf in a beautiful
peachy color and a new lipstick with a hint of tangerine—I haven't
stopped wearing either one! Even though I didn't get to buy a full
outfit my two new purchases have launched me into spring without braking
the bank. And they both seem to go with everything, making them very
smart buys.
